Jake is a 7 year old Golden surrendered to Arizona Golden Rescue with medical issues. This sweet gentleman's intake pictures will break your heart. Extremely thin and with hair loss due to constant scratching and rubbing seeking relief. It
was apparent he had been suffering for a very long time.
Jake was rushed to our veterinary specialists where a complete work-up was completed. He was given a Cytopoint injection which greatly reduced his itching. The good news is his Thyroid is normal and he tested negative to Heartworm, Valley Fever and Tick Fever. Once his blood tests and cultures came back he was diagnosed with skin and ear infections treatable with oral and topical medications. In 4 days, released from the hospital, he looked and acted the typical, happy Golden boy and is on the road to what we hope to be a complete recovery. Jake is now in one of our caring foster homes where he will receive a special diet, medications, daily medicated bath and lots of love.
This handsome, happy guy is deserving of a loving, forever home willing to maintain his diet and give him the love and care he requires. In return he will return the love with years of loyalty and devotion with his happy to be me attitude.
Prior to adoption, all AGR dogs are given a full vet exam, including valley fever and heartworm tests, brought up to date on all vaccinations, given a microchip, neutered or spayed, and treated for any medical problems.
